Yell! ft Daniel James Are Back… and They’ve Got Their Hands Up!
Three decades after their Top 10 smash “Instant Replay”, Yell! are back—and they’re bringing the soundtrack to your summer!
To celebrate 3 decades since Yell! hit the Top 10 with “Instant Replay”, Daniel James has reformed Yell! to release their brand-new feel-good anthem “Hands Up.” Bursting with feel-good energy and packed with anthemic summer vibes, the track is already making waves as it climbs The Heritage Chart and gaining international airplay, proving that great pop music never goes out of style.
Fresh from performing at seaside resorts across the UK, Yell! ft Daniel James have been entertaining audiences from coast to coast. But that’s not all…Between performances, Daniel also took the opportunity to film scenes for the official “Hands Up” music video on some of Britain’s most beautiful beaches.
Watch the video and see if you can guess which UK beaches the band visited!
Away from the stage, Daniel has been hard at work in the recording studio, writing even more music for the months ahead. Already in the pipeline are two exciting new self-penned new releases, “Crazy,” which is another upbeat pop anthem guaranteed to get listeners dancing, and “Wrap Your Arms Around Me,” a heartfelt anthem celebrating friendship, love and togetherness. With its emotional message and unforgettable melody, it’s destined to become a favourite first dance song at weddings around the world.
Daniel has also been invited to record a song for an upcoming NETFLIX feature film due to be released in early 2027.
Alongside touring and recording, Daniel continues to entertain audiences worldwide through his hit syndicated radio show, “Bangers and Chat,” now celebrating its fifth successful year.
With new music, live performances and exciting projects on the horizon, this one of his busiest and most exciting years to date. Daniel is writing an exciting new chapter—bringing the soundtrack to summer and inviting everyone to turn up the volume, sing along and get their Hands Up!
In the vibrant pop scene of the 1980s and 1990s, Daniel rose to fame as one half of the chart-topping duo Yell!, scoring worldwide hits with “Instant Replay” and “Let’s Go Round Again”. Their album “Let’s Go” not only captured the sound of the era but also showcased Daniel’s song writing talent, featuring standout tracks such as “Give Me A Little More Time”, “What U Do to Me”, “Surrender”, and “I Get the Feeling”. The album has since been reissued on Secret Records, cementing its place as a nostalgic pop classic.
Before stepping into pop stardom, Daniel had already built an impressive career in television. He appeared in a range of TV dramas and became a familiar face as a live presenter on BBC television, brightening weekday mornings. His natural charisma led to a role on Children’s BBC, where he read out birthday messages. He then went on co-host the lively summer morning show” But First This” alongside Andy Crane and Sue Devaney on a three-hour live magazine programme on BBC1.
It was during this time that Daniel crossed paths with Jeff Chegwin, who, after hearing Daniel’s material, encouraged him to team up with another singer and form a band. That sparked the creation of Yell! and the rest, as they say, is history.
After stepping back from music, Daniel returned to his acting roots, taking on guest lead roles in a wide range of popular television series, including Last Tango in Halifax, Casualty, Coronation Street, Bad Girls, Doctors, and EastEnders. He also found success across the Atlantic, appearing in the NBC series Passions and in the off-Broadway play “The Feast of Alexander”
Daniel has returned to music with a bang and has had several self-penned Top 10 hits on The Heritage Chart.

What a great Korgis show. It may have been lacking in teeth, the odd word, and Bonnie but what it had was bags of fun, epic songs, brilliant musicians, dad’s army lookalikes, AI’s never ending smile, technical hitches smoothly dealt with by John, Daniel James and a very, very happy audience. Looking forward to the next one.
